Help Wanted

Palisades School District Maintenance Position Openfull-time, 12 month, daytime position for the Palisades School District. Position starts upon successfully completing all pre-hire paperwork and pre-employment drug-screening. 

The interested candidate must have experience in all aspects of building maintenance. Mechanical, plumbing, electrical  HVAC and snow plowing. Preference given to those with HVAC experience. Candidates must be willing to work overtime as needed.Starting hourly rate after probationary period is $27.25/hour. Candidate must work well independently and in a team environment.  

This position is 7.5 hours per day, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm (with half hour unpaid lunch). This is a support staff contracted position and receives all benefits as per the collective bargaining agreement.

Boys Track and Field Relay Team Sets NEW School Record

During last week’s Pirate Invitational, held at Palisades, the 4x400 Boys Relay team consisting of Gianluca LeBlanc, Bryce Guthier, Hugh Salva, and Thomas Smigo set a NEW SCHOOL RECORD on their way to winning 1st place in the event!  Congratulations to these seniors!

Key Club Clothing Drive Follow-Up

Throughout the month of March, Holly Pason ran a school wide clothing drive with the help of our Key Club. This was through the Fostering Hope organization supporting the needs of foster children in Bucks County. Our clothing drive collected over 100 pounds of donations!

Congratulations to the following students who competed in the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Hershey this past week:

They all did a phenomenal job in their respective events. Joe made it to the finals and had the honor of accepting his 7th place award at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA!

Graduation Date for the Class of 2023

The graduation date for the Class of 2023 will be Friday, June 2nd at 5:30 PM in Walter T. Rohrer stadium. The rain date will be Saturday, June 3rd at 10:00 AM. More information will be forthcoming.

YLEAD Summer Youth Leadership Program

The 2023 YLEAD summer youth leadership program that will be held in July 2023 for high school students.

YLEAD is an opportunity for high school students from across the Lehigh Valley to come together for leadership skills, community engagement and developing new relationships.  YLEAD combines in person learning with community service projects in support of our nonprofit community. 

For 2023 the program will be held for two separate weeks.  July 10th to July 14th and then again on July 24th to July 28th.  Each week is a new cohort of students.  The program is led by two summer college interns and is a great networking and skill development opportunity for high school students.

Voter Registration

The local chapter of the League of Women Voters will be coming to Palisades High School on April 26th to help students who are 18 register to vote.  They will be here during all three lunches on Wednesday the 26th.  Seniors, please look for them outside the cafeteria if you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity.  All you will need is a copy of your driver's license or the last four digits of your social security number.

Drug Take Back 23

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 10 am - 2 pm! This year’s Take Back event will feature 48 public collection sites throughout the county. Simply walk or drive up and drop in any unused, unneeded or expired medications for safe disposal.

In addition to prescription medications, law enforcement officers will be collecting over-the-counter and pet medications, vitamins, vaping products and more. Plus, select sites throughout the county will be collecting medications and sharps and distributing Narcan on April 22! QNB Art Contest 2023

QNB is calling for entries to its annual Student Art Collector Calendar contest!

As always, the contest is open to all high school students (grades 9-12) in QNB Bank's market area, now through May 26, 2023. The theme for this year's calendar is "Architecture" and the art format is the same as years past – a pen and ink drawing measuring 9" wide by 7" high. In June, fourteen winners will be selected and receive a prize of $100 deposited into a QNB CD or Savings Account and their artwork published in the 2024 calendar.

This will be the 28th installment of the QNB Student Art Collector Calendar, and we look forward to seeing the amazing artwork from all of the talented students in our communities. Entry forms with a full list of rules and regulations for the contest are available at all QNB Bank locations and on our website at QNBbank.com/contest.
