ATTENTION PARENTS/GUARDIANS! Internet Safety Presentation
On Tuesday, January 24th at 6:00 PM in the high school auditorium, the Palisades School District will host an Internet Safety presentation. Senior Special Agent Argetsinger will be presenting a program called “Internet Safety and Children”, which was created by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. “Internet Safety and Children” will help parents/guardians understand the risks children face when they are using the internet and ways to mitigate those risks. Topics covered will include: Inappropriate content, Online privacy, Sexting, Online sexual solicitation, and Cyberbullying. PHS receives AP Computer Science Female Diversity Awards:
This week, the College Board announced that Palisades High School was selected as one of the 209 schools for its participation in Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science A. According to the College Board, “The College Board AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award recognizes schools that are closing the gender gap and expanding young women's access to computer science coursework in AP Computer Science Principles (AP CSP) and AP Computer Science A (AP CSA). Specifically, College Board is honoring schools that have either reached 50% or higher female examinee representation in one of or both AP computer science courses, or whose percentage of the female examinees met or exceeded that of the school's female population.”
Bocce Ball Team:
Our Bocce Ball team consisting of the following students: Grace Martens, Morgan Wright, Kassandra Mundhenk, Ailish Kelleher, Kayla Russo, Samantha Christen, Averie Winsor, Leonardo Cerborino, Kylie Helfrich, Gianna Nastasi, Blake Reinard, Ryleigh and Matthew Mcanally. The team is coached by Mrs. Dani Thomas and student coach Grace McArdle. The team competed against ArchBishop Wood HS on Thursday, January 19th. The team split their matches and will compete on Wednesday, January 25th in the Purple Gym at 3:00 PM. Great job Bocce Ball Team! GO PIRATES!
Bucks County Student Forum at Palisades High School:
Palisades High School hosted the Bucks County Student Forum on January 18th with student leaders from eight other Bucks County schools joining Palisades student representatives to engage in thoughtful conversations about adolescent challenges. Schools were welcomed with coffee from the Pirates Pier student workers and split up into sub-committees, working on outreach projects for challenges that face teenagers. These Bucks County student leaders will continue to develop their projects throughout the year to support the mental, emotional, and physical health of teenagers.
2023-24 Technical School Application is OPEN
Students interested in attending the Upper Bucks County Technical School for the 2023-24 school year must complete an online application. The completion of the application is only necessary for students that will be new to the Technical school. The application is available using thislink and should be completed by February 9th. Completed applications are required to be considered for all shop areas. Videos are available to review the programs through their website and students/parents are encouraged to view videos for shops for which they are interested in applying.
Again, returning Technical School students DO NOT need to complete the application. ONLY those who did not attend the Technical school this year must complete the application.
