BUS STOP EXCEPTIONS
Bus Stop Exceptions may only be approved for daycare needs and shared custody situations. Please return the Bus Stop Exception Form as soon as your arrangements are finalized. The forms are available on the Palisades website under Transportation Services. The completed form can be sent/emailed to your building secretary for principal approval and they will forward to the transportation department. Even if your stop exception is the same as it was last year, we will need a newly signed copy completed for each new school year. If a stop exception will no longer be in effect, you may notify the bus depot at 484-812-0150.
MORNING PICK UP
Please have students ready and waiting at the bus stop 10 minutes before the assigned time. Based on daily student and road traffic fluctuations, there are times when the bus may run early.
BUS ROUTES AND TIMES
Electronic letters advising you of bus assignments, bus numbers, and pick-up and drop-off times will be sent 10 days before the start of school. Route or time changes during the school year will be notified by a call, email and change notice with your student. These changes are also updated on the PowerSchool student portal.
WEATHER RELATED NOTIFICATIONS
The decision for a morning delay, 1-, 2-, 3-hour delay or closure will be announced by 5:15AM or the previous evening by 9PM. Phone call communication will go directly to your household as well as posted on the Palisades website. Also Twitter, Facebook, the WFMZ web site, B104, Channel 6, Channel 10, and Channel 60 TV broadcasts. You may also call 610-847-5131, and press 5 for announcements. If you need to update your phone number(s) or email address(es) please contact your building secretary.
BUS TRANSPORTATION COMMUNICATIONS
From time to time, we will notify your household if there is a bus delay. Any delay in excess of 15 minutes will be sent as a voice alert, through school messenger. If you have a bus suggestion, safety concern, or a transportation question, you may call the Transportation Director, at 610-847-5131 ext. 4007, the Bus Depot Manager at 484-812-0150, or leave a message at 610-847-5131 ext. 4300.
NON PUBLIC SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION
When the Palisades School District is announcing a 1-, 2-, or 3-hour weather delay, Krapf Bus Company will transport your student on that same delay even if your school is opening at the regular time. When the Palisades School District is closed, Krapf Bus Company will not provide transportation. If Palisades announces an early dismissal, Krapf will contact your school directly to arrange an early pick-up time. Note: Krapf does not transport non-public, half day schedules automatically – each school calendar varies. We will communicate with your school but households will not be notified by Palisades or Krapf. In any bus change event, please contact your school for an exact pick-up time.
