SPIRIT WEEK AT PHS:

Thanks to our students, faculty and staff for making this past week exciting and filled with school spirit as we had our annual Spirit/Homecoming week activities! Notably, our Powder Puff game returned for the first time since the Fall of 2019 and we held an outdoor pep rally in the stadium!


As a part of the spirit week activities, the following juniors and seniors were selected to the 2021 Homecoming Court:

PHS MARCHING BAND COMPETITION RESULTS:

Last weekend, the Marching Band competed at the Cavalcade of Bands Competition in Downingtown on Saturday, October 3.  They earned first place in the Independence Open Class Division with a score of 78.4.  This was a huge improvement from their last competition.


Their next competition is Saturday, 10/16 at Upper Moreland High School.

DR. FRANCIS V. BARNES SCHOLARSHIP FUND:

The family has established a Scholarship fund in Francis' name.  Anyone wishing to contribute to the fund (money to be awarded to a graduating senior from the Class of 2022 entering the education field), can send a check made payable to Palisades School District (with FVB Scholarship in the memo) to the high school at 35 Church Hill Road, Kintnersville, PA  18930.

The following non-athletic EDRs are available for the 2021/2022 school year for the Palisades School District. By October 18, 2021, all interested candidates must email their letter of interest, resume, disclosure form(s), and clearances (Act 24, 34, 114, and 151 current within the past 12 months of the closing date of this posting) to the principal noted below.  EOE

* Has the ability to lead a group of fourth and fifth grade students in a theatrical performance of the director and principal’s direction and of student interest

* Oversee with choreographing students in order to best present the story and the music, as necessary based on the type of performance selected

* Oversee with lighting design, creating a light plot, and creating an efficient set design, as necessary

* Assist with gathering and purchasing props needed for the show

* Create props that cannot be purchased that may be needed for the show, if necessary

* Assist with costume design, if appropriate

* Coordinate rehearsal schedule and run rehearsals

* Communicates with students, parents and staff
