911 rededication ceremony

Click here for more photos:  Rededication Ceremony

The district held a ceremony at our middle school to commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and to recognize those who perished on that day, as well as those who have served in the military since the attacks on that day.  Also at the ceremony, we had the honor of rededicating the sculpture created by two of our then middle school students, Ellen Aikens and Sarah Fry (graduates of PHS Class of 2007).  Sarah and her family were present to accept an American flag and a citation from our special guest, US Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick.

Servicemen from the American Legion presented the colors to begin our event.  State Representative Shelly Labs sent a certificate, as well as an American flag and Pennsylvania flag for our middle school to display honoring this solemn anniversary.  In addition, many community members were present last evening to take part in the ceremony including several School Board members, firefighters from the Ottsville, Upper Black Eddy and Riegelsville Fire Departments, representatives from the Upper Bucks Emergency Medical Services, and Emergency Managers from Riegelsville and Nockamixon.

Chorus students from PALMS, under the direction of Ms. Brittany Baumeister, performed two songs for the assembled crowd - the Star Spangled Banner and Proud to Be an American - both were beautifully executed by our students.  The evening ended with refreshments served by our cafeteria staff and a special cake from the bakery at the Upper Bucks County Technical School. It was a wonderful tribute! Thanks to all who were able to participate!

PCF CELEBRATES 25 YEARS - THE CELEBRATION WAS A GREAT EVENT!
Special thank you to all of those who were able to attend our 25th Anniversary Celebration last Sunday!  We had a wonderful time at the lovely Durham Hill Farm hosted by Elizabeth and Kevin Roberts!  There were many basket/raffle donations by parent volunteer groups, NAPA Auto, the Vandergast family, the Debczak family, Dr. and Mrs. Tubiello, the McNichol family and others.  We also appreciate the generous monetary donations by the Allen family, Debczak Wealth Management Group, the Holmes family, the Hsu Family, the John Holroyd Agency, Swamp's Auto Body and the
Vandergast Family.  And thanks to Dave and Lyn Haubert for kicking back their 50/50 winnings!

The event was so fun and we had wonderful food by Mary's Rustic Kitchen (appetizers), Little Bit Sweets (a cupcake assortment) and Smokerhead BBQ (Holland, PA).  And there is always a good party when DJ Reilly (Reilly Entertainment Group) shows up!  Finally, thanks to our planning group led by John and Anne Debczak (Joanne, Tim and I just did as we were told!)  You did all of the heavy lifting!

Special thanks to the former board members from PCF who were able to attend - your legacy lives on for another 25! (Pictured above, Vernon Wehrung, an original founder sharing his story of the start of PCF)

Take a walk back in time with some old photos from PCF events of the past put together with the help of PHS video students Carly Fair and Sammie Trickel (both Class of 2022):

Shoe Drive

You will see large trash cans at all of the entrances to the high school for the rest of the month. The Key Club is collecting shoes (new or gently used) for a local fire company. Please raid your closet, your kids' closet, and knock on the neighbor's door to look through their closet, for shoes that you do not want or need anymore. I know many of you have children in the age range where they are changing shoe size faster than your wallet would like. But, now those shoes can be put to good use. The auxiliary is using this as a fundraiser for the fire company and you know that they could use our help. So, please help by filling the trash cans with shoes. Key Club is collecting only for a few weeks, until October. Thanks for any help!
