HOLIDAYS ARE A TIME FOR GIVING!
We have opportunities for you to help!

Palisades Giving Tree - set up in the main office at PHS - grab a tag and bring back the wrapped gift for one of our own students from across the district.  Many tags on this year's tree!  Deadline for returned gifts is December 19th so we will have time to distribute to the families.  Special thanks to Mrs. Berger and our counselors and nurses for helping to make the holidays brighter for families in our district!

Springfield Family Needs Your Help!  Let's Help the Macorts - this family has hit a bump in the road while dealing with a serious health condition.  Any of your help is deeply appreciated!  The friends of this family have organized this GOFUNDME fundraising effort on behalf of the family.  Thank you for your help!

ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE HOLIDAY CHEER!

It's that time of year again!  PALMS is collecting new and unwrapped toys for less fortunate children in our area. Collection boxes are located by the auditorium. Deadline for donations is December 10, 2018.  Thank you and have a wonderful holiday!

Safety and Security Panel

SPECIAL THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED AND ATTENDED OUR SAFETY AND SECURITY TOWN HALL MEETING:

Held on Tuesday, November 13th, we had a number of professionals from the mental health and family health industry, as well as law enforcement, including Matt Weintraub, District Attorney for Bucks County and local police.

School safety is the biggest issue facing schools in the region, across the state and nationally.  The open and frank discussion held before the Thanksgiving break, shed light on the challenges encountered by all of our panelists in their area of work.

Many resources are available to support mental health concerns and needs.  We have begun to assemble those resources for families.

Overall, the common theme is "if you see something, say something."  In this way, we can all play a part in protecting our community and our schools from harm.  If you are concerned about a situation that may result in harm being done, please contact any school office 610-847-5131, ext. 4000 (district office), ext. 2000 (PHS), ext. 1000 (PALMS), ext. 3000 (Durham Nox), ext. 7000 (Tinicum) or ext. 6000 (Springfield).

If the situation needs immediate police action, please contact 911.  We all play a role in keeping our schools and our community safe.

At the beginning of the year, the state will be rolling out a tip line to report suspicious or concerning behavior as part of Act 44 (new legislation now in place to support increased school safety).  For more information about Act 44, please click on this link:  Website Powerpoint (Overview of Act 44).pdf

Also note that part of Act 44 includes grant funding for which schools can apply to further enhance safety and security in schools.  Thus far, we have been awarded $25,000 for programming related to mental health.  Attached is a synopsis of what the funding will be used for at Palisades.  Act 44 Grant Part A Board discussion.pdf

BOYS BASKETBALL TO PLAY OPENER AT THE WELLS FARGO CENTER!

This past summer the Boys Basketball team was able to secure a game on December 10th at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The students will return after the Palisades basketball game. The deadline to sign-up for the fan bus is Wednesday, December 5th. Students should stop by the Athletic Office, if they are interested.

GIRLS BASKETBALL SEASON BEGINS - GO PIRATES!

The teams are selling magnets as a fundraiser - the cost is $6.00
