Volunteer Needed as Palisade Pirate

Silver Creek Athletic Association is planning an Opening Day Ceremony for youth baseball and softball and is looking for a volunteer to dress as the Palisades Pirate to represent the high school.  If you are interested in helping on Saturday, April 18th at 2943 Route 212, Hellertown, PA in the morning (time TBD), please email Mr. Gilbert at [email protected] to sign up for this event.

Volunteers Needed to Sort Clothing Donations

Volunteer Opportunities on Monday, January 20th:

  1. Volunteers are needed at the Pipersville location (6516 Easton Road, Pipersville, PA 18947)
    • All-day project from 9:30 AM - 4 PM
    • About 20 volunteers able to offer 2 - 4-hour increments
    • Deep clean the store (sweeping, mopping, dusting, window cleaning, scrubbing, vacuuming, organizing)
    • Moving furniture (loading furniture from the store into our truck that we will be bringing to ReStore)
  2. Volunteers needed at the Plumsteadville location (Plumstead Square Shopping Center, 5835 Easton Road, Doylestown, PA 18902)
    • 10 AM - 7 PM
    • About ten volunteers available in 2 - 4-hour increments 
    • Cleaning the store, folding and sorting clothes, manning the floor, and other odds and ends to help the sale run smoothly
  3. Volunteers needed at The Well (address available upon completion of a confidentiality agreement)
    •  10 AM - 12 PM, about 8 - 10 volunteers
    • Deep cleaning of the safe house and Education and Counseling Center (sweeping, mopping, dusting, window cleaning, scrubbing, vacuuming, carpet cleaning)

For Pete's Sake Leadership Conference

Durham-Nockamixon Clubhouses

Durham-Nockamixon Elementary is in need of volunteers to help assist with their Clubhouses, which meet Wednesdays from 3:45-5:00 PM.  Clubhouses begin on Wednesday, February 5th and end on Wednesday, March 4th.  Each clubhouse needs about 3 volunteers.  If you are interested in any of the following clubhouses, see Mrs. Piper in Room 115, or email her at [email protected] -- Be sure to specify which clubhouse you are most interested in helping.

2020 Clubhouses: 
  • Soccer Club (Grades K - 2): Come and have a fun time learning soccer skills with your friends!
  • Cooking Club: Let's get ready, get messy, and make some fun, healthy snacks!
  • Kid’s Yoga Club: Students will participate in kid-friendly yoga helping them learn healthy lifestyle habits for a fit future. School will provide yoga mats.
  • Arts & Crafts Club (Grades K -2): Come out and create age-appropriate arts and crafts projects weekly to bring home.
  • Discovery Club (Grades K-2): Discover dinosaurs, animals, space and more as we experiment and learn about our planet and beyond.
  • Artist of the Week Club (Grades 3-5): Learn about a different artist every week, then practice their style! Students will experiment with artistic techniques and develop their own style, as well.
  • Gardening Club:  Ready to get your hands dirty? Come out and learn about plants, growing seasons, plant care and more.
  • Yearbook Club (Grades 4 -5): Want to help design the Yearbook this year. Join us for a hands-on instruction on design and layout.
  • Karate Club:  Learn the basic skills of karate with a licensed Karate instructor from Max Impact Karate.
  • Harry Potter Club (Grade 3-5): Hop aboard the Hogwarts Express!  Join us for magic and mischief with Harry Potter games, crafts, quizzes, readings, and more.
  • Dance Club: Explore different genres of dance, such as ballet, jazz, hip hop, and musical theatre. Get a taste of each of these genres and learn a short piece of choreography to show off at the end of the
    session.

Volunteers are needed to help with the Riegelsville Library's Fall Book Sale on Saturday, November 30th, starting at 3 PM. Assistance is needed with boxing up books and clearing tables.  This event usually runs 3-4 hours, depending on the number of volunteers.  Any interested volunteer should call the Riegelsville Library at 610-749-2357 to sign up.

Volunteers for Riegelsville Halloween Parade

Volunteers are needed to help with the Riegelsville Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 26th at 10:15 am in the parking lot of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Riegelsville. Students are needed to help younger children line up in time for the parade.  They will also be asked to help take down tables and chairs when the event is over. 

Volunteers are also needed to help decorate the firehouse prior to the Halloween parade.  If anyone is interested in helping in any capacity, please call the Riegelsville Library at 610-749-2357.

Ottsville Fire Co. Open House

Batty for Bats Event

Fall Frenzi - Garden and Grounds Cleanup Day

Volunteers are needed to lend a hand to prepare Aldie Mansion for the winter ahead on Tuesday, October 22nd from 1:00-4:00.  Help is needed to trim back bushes, rake leaves, and complete other cleanup projects in the gardens. The Springfield Environmental Advisory Commission is interested in volunteers to help with their e-waste recycling event on Saturday, June 8th at Springfield Elementary School.

Springfield Roadside Cleanup

Volunteers are needed to assist with the Springfield Township Environmental Advisory Commission's Roadside Cleanup on Saturday, April 6th at 9am.  All volunteers will be meeting at Springfield Elementary before clearing the roads. Please dress appropriately.

Downtown Bethlehem Cleanup

The Downtown Bethlehem Association is seeking volunteers for the annual Historic District Cleanup on Saturday, April 20, 2019, from 8:00 am – 11:00 amThe purpose of this event is to encourage community involvement in keeping our city’s Historic District beautiful, clean and inviting for everyone! Volunteers are needed to help pick up litter, clean out planters, and plant new flowers for spring. We will be meeting at the Sun Inn Courtyard at 556 Main Street at 8 am for refreshments and to hand out clean-up supplies provided by the DBA and its sponsors. From there, groups will be assigned to different areas of the Historic District to help pick litter and clean out planters.

VOLUNTEERS UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. Gloves, trash bags and safety equipment will be provided.

Volunteers for Harlem Wizards

Volunteers for Fiddler on the Roof!

Volunteers are needed to help as ushers (collect tickets) for the productions of Fiddler on the Roof on Friday, March 1st at 6 pm, Saturday, March 2nd at 6 pm, and Sunday, March 3rd at 12:30 pm. UBE Fire Co. Breakfast

Volunteers are needed to assist with the Upper Black Eddy Fire Company's Breakfast on Sunday, February, 10th from 7:00 am - 2 pm.  Volunteers are not expected to stay for the entire length of time, but it would be appreciated. There is no need to sign up for this event ahead of time, but please ask for Paul when you arrive.

Snack Stand Volunteers on 1/18

More Handwriting Tutors Needed at Durham-Nox!


Volunteers are needed to tutor elementary students at Durham-Nockamixon every Thursday afternoon from 2:30-3:15.  If you are involved in other extracurriculars, please be mindful that these elementary students will be depending on your attendance every Thursday.  If you are interested, please see Mrs. Piper in Room 115, or email her at [email protected].

Durham-Nockamixon Clubhouses

Volunteers Needed for American Bulldog Fundraiser
Volunteers are needed to assist a fundraiser for the American Bulldog Rescue on Sunday, November 4th at the Bridgeton AA in Upper Black Eddy.  Two volunteers are needed to sell tickets at the door, starting at 11:45 am for about 2 hours.  Three to four volunteers are needed to help organize event, starting at 1:45 pm for about 2 hours. Childcare at Durham-Nockamixon Elementary School

Volunteers are needed to assist parents and teachers at Durham-Nox Elementary School by providing childcare during school-sponsored events.  
Volunteers are needed on the following dates:

  • January 16th from 4-5 pm
  • March 6th from 4-5 pm

first Monday of every month, starting at 6:30.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the Riegelsville Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 27th from 10 am - 12 pm. Volunteers will be asked to register kids for the costume contest and monitor kids during the parade.  Volunteers are encouraged to wear their costumes. Volunteers are needed to assist with a Community Rx Takeback on Saturday, October 27th, 2018.  This event is being held in two locations, Wehrungs (on 611) and Springfield Elementary School, from 10 am - 2 pm.  Volunteers are asked to assist with collecting old medications and administering exit surveys.  If anyone is interested in this event, please see Mrs. Piper in Room 115, or email her at [email protected] to sign up for a specific time and location.

Bring your friends, family, and colleagues to the Navy Yard on June 3rd to celebrate the rich diversity of our region and stand up against bigotry.

Volunteers are needed to walk alongside our Stand Up to Silence Committee at the Annual Walk Against Hate on Sunday, June 3rd. If you are interested in this event, please email Ms. Tolson to register.

The Peyton Heart Project's mission is to help raise global awareness about suicide and bullying and to help end the stigma surrounding mental health. The project is named after Peyton James, a 13-year-old boy who, in the fall of 2014, died by suicide after years of being bullied.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the Cooks Creek Watershed Association's Roadside Cleanup on Saturday, April 7th from 9am - 12pm. All volunteers will be meeting with the Environmental Advisory Committee members at the Springtown Firehouse promptly at 9am. Homemade chili will be served at the conclusion of the cleanup.
