Congratulations to our seniors

Let's Celebrate the Class of 2020 Together!

End of year celebrations:  In addition to celebrating the promotion of our 5th grade students on June 11th and 8th grade students on June 15th, our team with input from junior and senior class officers, class advisors and parents, have planned for the following events for the Class of 2020:

HAPPENING NOW:

Social Media Senior Spotlight:  Our senior students were encouraged to submit information about themselves to be shared along with their senior portraits on Instagram and Facebook for our community to share in the celebration of the Class of 2020!  Please follow the Senior Class on Instagram @palisadesseniors and our district Facebook, Palisades School District Bucks County.

Spring Sports Senior Nights:  Our Athletics Department has put together a series of tributes for our senior class student-athletes who were not able to participate in sports this spring.  In these short videos, they are recognized for their achievements in the spring sports in which they have participated throughout their high school years.  In addition, on April 17th, we participated with the PIAA and District XI to pay tribute to the Senior Class of 2020 and emergency responders by Lighting Up the Stadium.  Please see the videos linked below.

MAY 20, 2020

Cap & Gown Pick-Up: Students will come to campus to pick up caps and gowns on Wednesday, May 20th.  A schedule and process for pick up will be provided by Mr. Heffernan and Mrs. Schlosser tomorrow, please be sure to check your email.

Class of 2020 Graduate Lawn Signs:   A  lawn sign has been purchased by the district for each senior. Pick up will occur at the same time that seniors are picking up caps and gowns.

Senior Athlete/Musician Signing Day:  This is a virtual event for students involved in the Signing Day to recognize their choice of college after graduation from high school.  The event will be recorded and will be aired on our YouTube (PSDtv) Channel after the ceremony takes place.

MAY 21, 2020 AND MAY 26, 2020

Ceremonial Graduation Walk at PHS:  Graduating seniors will have the opportunity to do their graduation “walk” in the auditorium at Palisades High School.  Seniors will be scheduled over the 2 day period to enter the auditorium area with 4 family members (all of whom must wear masks) to do their ceremonial walk across the stage.  We will be adhering to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Department of Health (DOH) guidelines, having no more than 10 people at the venue at a time, and everyone will remain socially distant.

The ceremonial walk will be recorded for our “virtual graduation” airing on June 12th.  A photo of the graduate and their family members in attendance (no more than 4) will be taken by Christmas City Studios.  The photo will be taken outside (a backdrop will be set up), so masks will not be required.

Graduates will choose a time slot using Sign Up Genius.  The link has been sent to students and families by Mr. Heffernan and Mrs. Schlosser.

MAY 26, 2020

Senior Awards:  Senior Award Recognition Program will be held on Tuesday, May 26th at 6:30PM.  The program will be aired on the Palisades School District Facebook page, our Website (www.palisd.org) and the district Youtube Channel (PSDtv) for our entire community and extended Palisades family to enjoy.  A link will be shared a few days before the event.

BEGINNING JUNE 1, 2020

Community Porch/Yard Decorating:  Show your spirit!  To celebrate all of our graduates, we are encouraging community members to decorate your porch or yard with our Pirates’ colors - purple and gold!  The Senior Class would be so appreciative of this outpouring of love and support.

10 Days of Celebration for Grads:  Our faculty and staff are making plans to celebrate our seniors for 10 days beginning on June 1st.  Please stay tuned for more information.

JUNE 11, 2020

Diplomas:  Diplomas will be mailed to the homes of the graduates in the Class of 2020.

JUNE 12, 2020

Palisades Virtual Graduation Ceremony:  Our virtual graduation will be professionally produced with every graduating student represented. It will include pomp and circumstance, student-performed  music, presentation of students with an accompanying photo, student speakers, speeches by our Principal,  Superintendent and Palisades School Board President, as well as the conferral of diplomas. Our virtual ceremony will air on the Palisades School District Facebook page, our Website (www.palisd.org) and the district Youtube Channel (PSDtv) for our entire community and extended Palisades family to enjoy. The pre-show will begin at 5:30PM, while the Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2020 will begin at 6:00PM.

OTHER ITEMS:

Yearbook Distribution: Yearbooks will be funded for all seniors this year. If a deposit or full payment was already made a refund will be issued. Yearbooks will be distributed as soon as they are received.
