PCF WEEKEND MEAL DISTRIBUTION:

If you or someone you know would like to receive a free meal next weekend, courtesy of Palisades Community Foundation (PCF), please fill out this form:  https://forms.gle/wCUHDA6MUTERWXgY8

This meal is being provided to families in the Palisades School District thanks to the generous donations made to PCF to support those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.  Please share this information with senior citizens who may wish to receive a meal.  You may fill out the form on their behalf and pick up the meal for them if you would like.

Meals will be distributed again on Friday, May 1st from 3-5PM at Palisades High School in a drive through fashion.  We ask that you remain in your vehicles when picking up the prepared meals for your family, friends or neighbors.

If you are interested in donating to this COVID relief project, please mail your tax free donation to PCF at PO Box 194, Kintnersville, PA  18930 or go to https://www.palisadescommunityfoundation.com/ to make an online donation using PayPal.

Again, if you would like to reserve meals to pick up on Friday, May 1st at PHS between 3 and 5PM, please fill out this form by the end of day on Wednesday, April 29th (that will give us enough time to prepare and package the meals for distribution on Friday).  Click here:  https://forms.gle/wCUHDA6MUTERWXgY8

We are very excited to have had an outpouring of compassion and commitment to this project by our community members!  We are all proud to be a part of this project and are thankful for your support!  We hope to continue to provide weekend meals at least through the end of May.

Virtual Band Performance:

Since we will not have our spring concert, Director Maldonado and our instrumental music students will be producing and releasing portions of the concert virtually. The first piece is "One Giant Leap". This piece is a tribute to the Apollo Space Program. The students sent in their individual video recordings playing their assigned parts. Director Maldonado then took all their videos and created a collaborative virtual recording.

Would you like to join the fight against COVID-19?  Do you have 3-D printers and/or laser cutters?
With the COVID-19 virus spreading and schools closed, the Bucks County Intermediate Unit’s (Bucks IU’s) Mobile FAB LAB began manufacturing personal protection equipment (PPE) for local health care professionals and first responders.  Since the middle of March, more than 800 face shields have been manufactured by the Fab Lab or donated by local community members interested in helping!   To date, these face shields have been donated to the Bucks County Emergency Operations Center (for distribution to Bucks County first responders) and to local hospitals.

Demand for these face shields still remains very high.  Your help is needed!

If you own or have access to 3-D printers and/or laser cutters, you can join the Bucks IU Mobile Fab Lab’s efforts to protect local health care professionals and first responders in their fight against COVID-19!

PHOTOS OF LIGHT IT UP!  Honoring the Class of 2020 and Local First Responders:  Palisades School District partnered with our PIAA District XI member schools to light up our stadium last Friday. Area schools used their football stadium lights and scoreboards to salute the Class of 2020 and in support of the nurses, doctors, all other first responders on the frontline battling COVID-19. The scoreboard displayed the score 20 - 20  in honor of all the seniors in the class of 2020, and in honor of those on the front line, the down and distance sections of the scoreboard displayed 4th and 19.

FROM PENN FOUNDATION:

Palisades friends,

You, your families and the faculty and students in the district you so faithfully support, have been on our minds. In an effort to help all of us get through these challenging times, Penn Foundation has been updating its website and social media channels on a regular basis with a variety of resources. These include Tips to Help You and Your Family Navigate Tough Times, a wide range of community resources (including student food support options), online support groups and inspirational messages of hope. Some of our clinicians have recorded tips and advice, offered mindfulness exercises and yoga and more.

We know the schools have shifted gears to online school and recognize that some families are navigating this change better than others. During this tough time, please know that Penn Foundation is here, we’re open and we’ve transformed our service delivery to continue to meet the needs of our community. Please feel free to reach out if we can help in any way. And, at the very least, please feel free to offer any of the links or resources we have online to your network.
