National School Counselors' Week

SPOTLIGHT ON OUR SCHOOL COUNSELORS:

We are thrilled to have opened all of our schools with one full time counselor at each elementary school, one full time counselor at the middle school and two full time counselors at the high school.  As educational leaders and advocates for children, our counselors help support all of our students at all times - when things are good and when they are a little off.  We have exceptional school counselors who DO their best to help our kiddos BE their best!  Thanks for all that you do - Jaclyn Williams (Durham Nox), Amy Doll (Springfield), Allison Dorward (Tinicum), Amber Blocher (PALMS) and Monica Losinno and Lori Tirjan (PHS)

From the American School Counselors Association:

National School Counseling Week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), is celebrated from Feb. 3–7, 2020, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.

Our school counselors “implement comprehensive school counseling programs, are a vital part of the educational process for all students as they meet the challenges of the 21st century,”

We thank counselors for being actively engaged in helping students examine their abilities, strengths, interests and talents; for working in a partnership with parents as they encounter the challenges of raising children in today’s world; for focusing on positive ways to enhance students’ academic, post-secondary and social/emotional development; and working with teachers and other educators to provide an educational system where students can realize their potential and set healthy, realistic and optimistic aspirations for themselves. School counselors are certified, experienced educators with a master’s degree in school counseling. The combination of their training and experience makes them an integral part of the total educational program.

2018-2019: 355 (points) 237 (rebounds)

2019-2020: 302 (points) 171 (rebounds)
Total:  919 (points) 623 (rebounds) as of 2/3/20

Coach Dietz’s Comments:

Trinity is an all-around player who is asked to be involved in every facet of the game. She is expected to handle the ball in pressure situations, be a force on the boards by rebounding, as well as a natural scorer from both inside the paint and from the perimeter.  Her leadership qualities and passion for the game are some of her strongest assets she brings to the team and the game of basketball.
